The session will focus on a series of topics with talks led by experts and opportunities for discussion and debate. To ensure the success of the discussions they would like to limit the group to 20. Lunch is included in the cost. The History of Cinema in the UKDescriptionThe History of Cinema in the UK Conference at WPM University, Burgess Hill, Wednesday 19 July 2017 Over the last three decades, our understanding of cinema as a historical phenomenon has been subject to a series of ‘turns’ – empirical, spatial, and computational, to name a few. This conference, organised by the Early Cinema in the UK research project in collaboration with the HoF Network (History of Film), will investigate the shifting positions and imperatives of cinema history and its relationships with other approaches and disciplines.
